This is a big day for Mario Kart 8 racers as Nintendo has just released a bunch of new content through both free and paid DLC. The update should pop up the next time to try and connect Mario Kart 8 online. You might need to restart the game for the patch to take effect once downloaded.
The 200cc mode is not only free to all Mario Kart 8 players but is also a first for the series. This increased speed and difficulty might be the first time you really make solid use of that brake button. Keep in mind you will need to earn gold cups in the non-DLC cups through 150cc to play 200cc mode.
DLC Pack 2 is now available either individually or through the bundle package option. This Pack is available for $7.99 or for $11.99 if you buy the Pack 1 + Pack 2 Bundle. Here is what’s included in Pack 2:
Tracks:
– Animal Crossing
– Big Blue
– Super Bell Subway
– Wild Woods
– Baby Park (from Double Dash!!)
– Cheese Land (from Super Circuit)
– Koopa City / Neo Bowser City (from Mario Kart 7)
– Ribbon Road (from Super Circuit)
Characters:
– Villager (both male and female)
– Isabelle
– Dry Bowser
Vehicles:
– City Tripper
– Bone Rattler
– The Streetle
– P-Wing
Additional amiibo functionality has been unlocked with the free update as well. Scan in the following amiibos to unlock corresponding costumes for your Mii racer: Bowser, Wario, Olimar, Sonic, Villager, Mega Man, Rosalina, Pac-Man, and Toad. Keep in mind that Wario, Pac-Man and Olimar amiibos are not currently available and no one was able to buy Villager or Rosalina because Nintendo only made like 7 of them and they don’t believe in making more. Toad isn’t exactly easy to find either.
