Mario Tennis and Mario Golf on N64 and Gameboy Color were developed by Camelot. This forward thinking developer included Transfer Pak functionality in these sports titles but Mario Golf has one unfortunate downside of connecting the console version to the handheld version, one misstep that was corrected with Mario Tennis.

Mario Golf was the first game to support the Transfer Pak and was released before the accessory was made available to American players so it isn’t fair to knock it. In fact, it should be praised for implementing such a bold game design feature before any other game eve though there are some obvious flaws.
