Bust-A-Move Pocket, aka Puzzle Bobble Mini, on the Neogeo Pocket Color has a 2-player vs mode when connected with a link cable. This is straightforward, no options, classic Puzzle Bobble but this might be the first handheld version of this long running series to feature multiplayer.

Pocket Reversi for the Neogeo Pocket Color is classic Othello and has a 2-player link cable vs mode. But Dr. Reversi forgot to include a Hot Seat multiplayer option so you’ll need to link 2 copies to play head-to-head against a human.
